AndThenWe Saved.com is Under New Ownership
April 11, 2023 - BIG NEWS!
On December 29, 2009, I started AndThenWeSaved.com, and now it’s time I say goodbye.
(Get ready for the run-on sentence to end all run-on sentences. You ready? Ok…)
After 13 years, 3 months, & 14 days; 1,273 blog posts; millions of dollars saved; hundreds of lives changed; legions of people cheered on; countless meals eaten at home (instead of out); so many freebies and newsletters; a signature course; a book deal (published in 3 countries!); a couple of clothing swaps and morning shows; a “Best Of” title or two; dozens of guides; innumerable DM’s and emails; a myriad of collaborations; lots of friendships made (on and offline); an untold amount of captions and graphics created; heaps of website redesigns; gazillions of tips, hacks, stories, insights, and inspirations; loads of steps forward and a slew of steps back; gobs of life-changes; a bunch of TV appearances, articles, conferences, podcasts, interviews, photoshoots, flights, and speaking engagements it’s time for me to move on from running AndThenWeSaved.com!
Of course, a part of me feels sad to let this massive part of my life go, and another part knows it’s time.
I’m happy to announce that, AndThenWeSaved.com, the site that helped me get out of debt so many years ago and has continued to guide and support so many others out of debt, too, will get to live on!
Michael Dinich of WealthOfGeeks.com will take over AndThenWeSaved.com, the courses, guides, newsletter, the incredible Facebook Spending Fasters Group (SpendingFastersGroup.com), and the And Then We Saved Facebook page.
Michael has a fantastic set of skills and expertise! I trust that he’ll bring a new life to And Then We Saved while continuing to support and encourage the community that’s been built over the years and continues to thrive.
While I want to try, there’s no way to adequately summarize everything that’s happened over the last 13 years with, And Then We Saved (I guess I did give that a go above🤪)
For me to try to casually suggest that the site “changed my life” would be the understatement of all understatements.
However, it did.
Back in 2009, I never could’ve guessed that the site I started semi-impulsively as a way to hold myself accountable in my year-long No-Spend Challenge (AKA the Spending Fast and Spending Diet) would have affected my life as much as it has (with the whole “getting out of debt” aspect being shockingly minor in the grand scheme of things!)
One of the biggest takeaways I’ve learned is that you can’t “mess up” what’s meant for you (I mean, I went to college for photography, not personal finance!!!!?) All of ~this~ was NOT in “The Plan”! lol
How everything has evolved has shown me that life will always surprise me in the best ways possible if I can only remain open and curious. And that my mere human ideas of how things “should” go are pretty limited.
AndThenWeSaved.com is a firsthand example of how things can turn out better than hoped (even if, IN the process, it may feel hard, embarrassing, and shameful — speaking of that load of debt I started with).
It’s shown me how vital it is to follow the nudges and fleeting thoughts of inspiration even when — maybe especially when?— they don’t make sense.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all your support over the years as I led the site and the community. While I may be saying farewell to the AndThenWeSaved.com chapter of my life, I will forever be grateful for it and all the people I’ve met.
Please know my email & DM’s are still open. If you ever need someone to be excited about meeting big or small goals (financial or otherwise), I’m your girl.
Thank you✨
❤️Anna
